We have created a sample email and a list of addresses that you can copy and paste into your email program. If you want to create your own email or modify ours, that's great. Unique emails are always most effective. But if you're short on time, the most important thing is for them to hear from you. We have set this up for the email to come from your email address rather than ours because it is much more effective for them to see lots of different addresses.
How to Send An Email.
1. Open your email program. Copy the sample email and paste it into your message area. Modify it as you wish. It's not a good idea to send attachments or put any kind of graphic or photo in the email because they are often cause the email to be rejected by government agencies for security reasons.
2. Copy the email addresses and paste them into the "to" section of your email. Be certain to copy them exactly as we have written them with commas separating the names. We would appreciate it if you would copy us (CAM@prisonersofgreed.org).
3. Be sure to sign your name. Email that are signed are taken much more seriously than anonymous email.
4. Send the email.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has just released draft regulations covering commercial kennels in Pennsylvania. The draft regulations do not adequately address the issues of temperature control, cage size and humane breeding practices. I support the regulatory changes to the commercial dog regulations submitted to the Governor by the Coalition Against Misery.
I am strongly opposed to commercial breeding kennels where the costs are minimized by providing substandard care and conditions for the dogs in an effort to increase the profit. I am writing to request that you contact the Department of Agriculture and Governor Rendell and express your support for the positions taken by the Coalition Against Misery. The regulations should require that every kennel have a visible, safe source of heat and air-conditioning and those kennels that do not meet that requirement should be immediately shut down. Given the number of fires at kennels that have killed hundreds of dogs it is obvious that propane is not a safe source of heat and should not be allowed. Additionally, the regulations should require that the cage size be adequate to provide the dogs a safe and comfortable life. And finally, we ask that the regulations include breeding regulations consistent with those established by reputable breed clubs and the American Kennel Corporation.
It is a profound embarrassment that Pennsylvania is known as the Puppy Mill Capital of the East Coast. The current regulations are disgraceful. District Justices have refused to enforce them because they are so poorly written. The regulations are now being redrafted, and it is time to protect the dogs. Please take steps to ensure that the new regulations provide humane conditions for the dogs. Thank you.
