Send an Email to the Governor of Pennsylvania
On February 2, 2005 Hearts United for Animals sent a letter to Governor Ed Rendell requesting that he direct the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture to immediately institute action to change the Dog Law regulations to provide greater protection for the dogs in Pennsylvania kennels. We submitted draft language for the regulatory changes. These draft changes provide for sanitation, safety and temperature control. There are hundreds of kennels in Pennsylvania, housing thousands of dogs, that do not have heat. This is cruelty by any standard. We know that the Governor is influenced by the number of email he gets on an issue. We need to make an impression on him that the changes need to be implemented immediately. Please take a minute of your time to help the dogs who are suffering in Pennsylvania.
How to Send An Email.
1. Open your email program. Copy the sample email and paste it into your message area. Modify it as you wish. Do not send attachments or put any kind of graphic or photo in the email because they are often cause the email to be rejected by government agencies for security reasons.
Here is a sample email message that you can copy and paste into your email body or write your own:
Dear Governor Rendell:
We have been waiting for you to take steps to help the dogs who are suffering in commercial kennels in Pennsylvania. You have had two years but have not taken any action. We want you to immediately require the Secretary of Agriculture to implement new regulations to the Dog Law that provide protection for the dogs. We support the regulatory changes that have been submitted by Hearts United for Animals. In particular, all kennels in Pennsylvania should have heat for the dogs. You have been outspoken in your support of the Philadelphia Eagles football team and Comcast. Don't the dogs deserve some of your time and thought? Please take a stand against misery. Please care about the dogs. Thank you.
2. Copy the email addresses and paste them into the "to" section of your email. Be certain to copy them exactly as we have written them with commas separating the names. We would appreciate it if you would copy us (cam@prisonersofgreed.org).

3. Be sure to sign your name. Email that are signed are taken much more seriously than anonymous email.
4. Send the email.
